This December Jan and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary with a vacation on the island of Bora Bora in French Polynesia. This was a longtime dream of mine as I have always been fascinated by the islands of the South Pacific. These pages are an attempt to show a little of the beautiful and interesting people and places we saw.
We left from Cedar Rapids on December 5 and flew to Los Angeles via Denver. After a long layover in LA we then left for Tahiti, an 8 hour flight. Unfortunately that flight was delayed and we arrived too late to catch our connecting flight to Bora Bora. Consequently we had some time to kill at the Papeete airport.
Finally we got on our plane to Bora Bora and took off. There were two stops enroute at the islands of Moorea and Huahine. We finally reached Bora Bora at around 4pm local time.
